Please note that WATER SHUT DOWN is in effect as follows:
Address: Marine Drive – Vidal Street
Date: January 16, 2019
Time: 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM
The watermain on Marine Drive from Vidal Street to Martin Street is required to be shut down for watermain work, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. This work is part of the watermain replacement program in the City’s Water Master Plan which started last summer in conjunction with the Memorial Park Project.
Hyland Excavating Ltd. will be back to complete the remaining watermain work from January 14, 2019 to January 18, 2019.
The shutdown will take place from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. The City spoke to the affected businesses and based on feedback, determined that this is the best option rather than having no water over the lunch period.
This necessitates shutting off the water to properties near the intersection of Marine Drive and Vidal Street.
Hyland Excavating will also be decommissioning the old watermain which includes removing old hydrants and valves and restoring the sidewalk. Final pavement restoration is targeted for Spring 2019 when the weather is warmer.
Refer to the sketch below for the extents of the new watermain.
