The City of White Rock mourns the loss of Mabel Charles, the oldest elder of the Semiahamoo First Nation, who passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the age of 94.
“On behalf of City Council and the City of White Rock, I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Semiahmoo First Nation and the family and friends of Elder Mabel Charles,” said City of White Rock Mayor, Megan Knight. “We join in the celebration of Mabel’s life and wish to acknowledge the profound loss of the deeply respected Elder.”
Flags at City Hall will fly at half-mast in honour of her legacy.
