[ARCHIVED] Province reports local case of COVID-19 in seniors’ home

COVID-19 update from the City of White Rock

White Rock Mayor Darryl Walker urges people to be more vigilant than ever in following public health directions after a resident in Evergreen Heights Assisted Living in White Rock tested positive for COVID-19.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported two new cases of COVID-19 at care facilities, one in Vancouver and the other at Evergreen in White Rock.

Mayor Darryl Walker

“My thoughts are with the Evergreen resident for their full recovery. Knowing one of our immediate neighbours has this terrible virus makes it even more important for us to take very seriously our role in flattening the curve.

People must wash their hands, and avoid going out unless necessary. We still encourage people to get out for fresh air. When you do, please practise social distancing, which is a critical element in stopping the spread of the virus. Stay at least two metres apart.

We are all in this together, and we will get through this together. Let’s do what we can to help one another.”
