[ARCHIVED] City of White Rock seeking local artists for decorative street banners

The City of White Rock invites artists from the Peninsula and Semiahmoo First Nation to submit designs for the 2020/2021 street banners program with the theme My City by the Sea.” 

With over 150 banners, the exhibit aims to enrich the quality of life for White Rock residents and visitors and to fuel audience interest in the arts. The banner program encourages community participation while respecting diversity , community identity and cultural experiences. The street banners will be on display beginning this fall.

A jury of local residents and a selection panel of the Public Art Advisory Committee will review all eligible applications. The committee guides the artistic vision of the banner program.

Artists can submit their qualifications and a letter of interest no later than July 9. The ‘Call for Qualifications’ can be viewed online at whiterockcity.ca/streetbanners.  Shortlisted artists will be invited to submit preliminary designs by July 14. Final designs will be reviewed in August.
