The City of White Rock will be operating a cooling centre and a misting station this week. Locations are open to the public as follows:
- White Rock Community Centre, 15154 Russell Avenue, will operate Monday (today) until 4:30pm. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday it will operate 8:30am - 6:00pm. An air-conditioned space, chairs, and bottled water will be provided.
- The corner of Russell Avenue and Johnston Road will have a cooling/misting station in operation 10:00am - 6:00pm beginning Tuesday. Guests can sit and cool off in an enclosed tent, and will be provided with bottled water, cold compresses, fans, sunscreen, first aid, and access to a water mister.
