The City of White Rock will operate a cooling centre and a misting station beginning Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in response to warm weather forecasted. Locations are open to the public as follows:
- White Rock Community Centre, 15154 Russell Avenue, will operate Tuesday, Aug.23 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. An air-conditioned space, chairs, and bottled water will be provided.
- The corner of Russell Avenue and Johnston Road will have a cooling/misting station in operation Tuesday, Aug.23 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Guests can sit and cool off under a tent, and will be provided with bottled water, cold compresses, fans, sunscreen, first aid, and access to a water mister.
