[ARCHIVED] White Rock Firefighters Charity Association hosts a Tree Chipping for Charity on Jan. 2

Fire fighter helping remove christmas tree from roof of van

The White Rock Firefighters Charity Association will be hosting the annual tree chipping for charity event on Monday, Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Centennial Arena (14600 North Bluff Rd.)

This event is by donation with all proceeds going to local charities and the British Columbia Professional Firefighters’ Association Burn Fund. From White Rock’s Firefighters, thank you for your donations.

Green Can your tree

Unable to attend the tree chipping? You can place your tree into your organic waste. White Rock crews will pick up trees curbside, provided they are cut into pieces three feet or shorter, bundled together less than 20 inches wide and placed in your Green Can or yard waste bag.

No matter how you dispose of your tree, it should be free of tinsel, ornaments, artificial snow, or anything else that might interfere with the composting process.
