[ARCHIVED] Join the Community Challenge and crown White Rock as Canada’s Most Active Community!

Join the City of White Rock in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge this June. This national initiative encourages everyone to get active and your participation could help recognize our city as Canada’s Most Active Community and be awarded $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives. 

Anyone can participate in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge by downloading and tracking their movement in the free ParticipACTION app from June 1 to 30, 2023. 

“Help the City of White Rock become the most active community in Canada,” said City of White Rock Mayor Megan Knight. “Enjoy the many physical and mental benefits of getting active and join White Rock in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge. Let’s get moving, White Rock!”

Get started on Saturday, June 3 with a free trail journey to explore the beautiful trails of Centennial/Ruth Johnston Park and the White Rock promenade. White Rock recreation staff will be on-hand to help you sign up for the ParticipACTION Community Challenge. Register online or call 604-541-2199.

About the ParticipACTION Community Challenge 

The ParticipACTION Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative that encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout June in search of Canada’s Most Active Community. The challenge is open to all communities and individuals, ultimately recognizing Canada’s Most Active Community and awarding it with $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives. 

In addition to the national winner, there are also prizes for the most active community in each province and territory. Individuals can participate in the ParticipACTION Community Challenge by downloading and tracking their movement in the free ParticipACTION app throughout June, or by joining local Community Challenge activities. 

The ParticipACTION Community Challenge is supported by the Government of Canada, Saputo, and Sun Life.
