The City of White Rock’s cooling and misting station will be open from July 4 to 7, 2023 due to the forecasted high temperatures.
The White Rock Community Centre will be open to the public as a drop-in daytime cooling station from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The air-conditioned building will provide respite from the expected heat. Guests will be provided with bottled water and a live television broadcast.
The misting station the corner of Russell Avenue and Johnston Road will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests will be able to sit and cool off in an enclosed tent, and will be provided with bottled water, cold compresses, fans, sunscreen, first aid, and access to a water mister. Pets are permitted.
