Volunteering is a great way for residents to get involved, provide input and expertise on important issues and make a positive contribution to our community.
Currently, the City of White Rock is accepting applications for three committees:
1. Parking Task Force Committee:
The Parking Task Force will review and potentially revise pay parking in White Rock; taking into consideration the integration of the new parkade, the review will also consider rates and parking permits. The goal of the Parking Task Force will be to present its recommendations to Council by May 30, 2019 at the latest.
2. Tour de White Rock Committee
The City is looking for volunteers to organize, promote, and host the Tour de White Rock, a high profile elite caliber cycling event. The Committee will have the authority to act on behalf of the municipality to ensure the cycling event is a success through revenue generation, acquiring corporate sponsorship, developing business community relations, event marketing and arranging race day activities and entertainment.
3. White Rock Sea Festival Committee
The White Rock Sea Festival Committee will organize, promote and host the White Rock Sea Festival, held on the BC Day long weekend in August. The Committee will have the authority to act on behalf of the municipality to ensure the cycling event is a success through revenue generation, acquiring corporate sponsorship, developing business community relations, event marketing and arranging race day activities and entertainment.
