At the Monday, July 8 regular Council meeting, City Council gave final reading to “Fees and Charges Bylaw, 2019, No. 2298, Amendment No. 1, 2019, No. 2299” which will:
- adjust the hourly parking rates and months along the waterfront effective immediately;
- FREE parking during the winter months on weekdays; and
- introduce a daily rate at the West Beach Parkade and Montecito Parkade.
Starting Tuesday, July 9, there will be two new parking rate zones – High Demand Zones will be $3.75 per hour, and Value Priced zones will be $3.25 per hour from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. (Midnight), seven days a week during the summer months of April to September.
High Demand Zones include all street and parking lot locations and the parkades east of Oxford Street. Value Priced Zones include all street and parking lot locations west of Oxford Street. (Map Below). Parking Zones are only active during the summer months.
There is also a new daily rate of $15.00 at the Montecito Parkade and West Beach Parkade valid all day during the summer months.
FREE parking will return during the winter months of November, December and January on weekdays (Monday – Friday). On weekends (Saturday and Sunday) rates will be $2.00 per hour and the parkades will have a daily rate of $7.50.
During the months of October, February and March, the hourly rate is $2.00 for all waterfront parking locations, and the daily rate is $7.50 for the Montecito Parkade and West Beach Parkade.

Where does parking lot revenue go?
Did you know that parking lot revenue is used to pay for parking related costs? The City does not generate a profit from parking. Below is a breakdown of where every $10 of waterfront parking lot revenue goes.
Summer Season Parking Zones:
