The City of White Rock is responding to the changing demands for parking during the COVID-19 pandemic, including residents’ parking, parking at the Waterfront and parking near Peace Arch Hospital.
Parking Decals
Recognizing the difficulty in renewing decals at this time, the City will accept 2019 parking decals for use by residents and businesses until Centennial Arena and City Hall reopen.
Waterfront Parking
The City has temporarily closed the Waterfront lots and the West Beach Parkade and will continue to monitor the 15-minute limit for vehicles parked on the north side of Marine Drive. Pay parking is still in effect at the Waterfront, Centennial Arena and Ruth Johnson Park.
Hospital Parking
City of White Rock parking spaces at Peace Arch Hospital will be free at this time. They are to be used only for hospital-related activities and will be monitored. There is no time limit on these spaces.
Critical Parking Operations
Some measures are critical to keeping White Rock safe and its streets operational. Parking-enforcement officers will continue to provide this essential service by enforcing the following:
- Parking in spots designated for people with disabilities
- Safety violations, such as parking too close to a crosswalk, intersection, or in front of a fire hydrant
- Parking in ‘No Parking’ zones
- Blocking a driveway or laneway
- Keeping special zones, such as bus stops, reserved parking and loading zones, open.
