[ARCHIVED] Resources for vulnerable available during COVID-19 pandemic

Resources for vulnerable available during COVID-19 pandemic

The City of White Rock is committed to supporting all members of our community through the COVID-19 pandemic with the help of our community partners.

A temporary homeless shelter has been set up in the Peace Portal Alliance Church gymnasium at 15128 27B Ave (152 at King George Blvd) for residents needing a safe place to sleep during the COVID19 pandemic. Physical distancing measures are in place, masks are available, and those displaying COVID-19 symptoms will be offered medical resources. Food, showers and other resources are also available. The shelter is open from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. through the end of June and is managed by Options Community Services and the church.  Please call Options at 604-599-8900 for more information.

Also available in the community to those in need is a take-away lunch service.  A nutritious lunch is distributed in the parking lot on the northeast corner of Johnston St. and Russell Ave between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. each weekday. This program exists through the work of the Rotary Club of White Rock, Peace Portal Alliance Church, Save on Foods, and the City of White Rock. For more information please contact jkmcm@telus.net

We thank all our community partners for their hard work and commitment to providing resources for those in need.  Please visit the City of White Rock’s COVID-19 information page for updates.
