[ARCHIVED] Get ready for White Rock’s Virtual Canada Day by the Bay, July 1

Virtual Canada Day by the Bay 2020

It’s time to get ready for White Rock’s Virtual Canada Day by the Bay celebration now with community activities and ways to livestream the event on July 1.

Visit the City of White Rock’s website to access activity kits for all ages from Heritage Canada, including crafts and games, and a colouring contest from White Rock Community Policing.

The White Rock Museum and Archives relies on community fundraising on Canada Day. This year, buy a buffee to support the Museum and Archives through Ethical Addiction. The Museum and Archives is also hosting a live, online marketplace from June 29 to July 3.

Many community groups and shops in White Rock will be celebrating Canada Day. Visit whiterockcity.ca/canadaday or the City’s Facebook page for ways to celebrate.

Sing O Canada together

Join Mr. O Canada, Mark Donnelly, on July 1 as he sings O Canada on the 40th anniversary of our National Anthem. Sing along from your balconies, front yards and living rooms at 7 p.m. Starting at 7 p.m., our neighbours in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, the Township of Langley, Langley City, Richmond, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Burnaby, and Port Moody will be singing as well as part of their respective Canada Day parties.

Get read to livestream the event

Just after O Canada, White Rock’s Virtual Canada Day by the Bay fires up with music from The Washboard Union and Ludic, comedy from John Cullen, trivia, prizes and more. The Washboard Union will answer questions from fans and viewers. To find out how to get your question featured, visit the Contest page at whiterockcity.ca/canadaday.
