[ARCHIVED] The City of White Rock wants to hear from you

Person using laptop to fill out survey - have your say!

The City of White Rock wants to hear from you. Whether it’s housing needs, transportation issues and opportunities or building heights outside of the Town Centre, your opinion can help shape the future of our city.

Here are some opportunities to provide input in January.

White Rock Housing Needs Survey

The City of White Rock would like to understand your housing needs. To help us get started, we’re asking for five to 10 minutes of your time to complete a Housing Needs Survey.

The results are anonymous and will be used to shape aspects of this project, including identifying how Statistics Canada's Census data aligns with the hopes and needs of White Rock residents, both today and in the future. The survey closes Jan. 15.

Transportation Issues and Opportunities Survey

The City of White Rock is developing an Integrated Transportation and Infrastructure Master Plan (ITIMP) to help address current transportation challenges and help shape the future of transportation in White Rock.

The final master plan will include key themes such as walking, cycling, access to transit, neighbourhood parking, driving and truck traffic and traffic safety. It will provide a long-term strategic plan that will guide transportation and infrastructure decisions for the next 20 years.

Please take 10 minutes to complete this online survey and share your thoughts and concerns.

Buildings Heights in White Rock

See staff present policy options and ask questions at a live, digital meeting on Thursday, Jan. 14 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Visit talkwhiterock.ca/OCP-review  and click on the Microsoft Teams link.

After the meeting, starting Jan. 15, visit talkwhiterock.ca/OCP-review to provide input through an online survey. Your comments will form part of a report to White Rock City Council in Spring 2021. A public hearing will take place before a bylaw is approved.

A paper survey can be mailed to those who prefer that option. Email planning@whiterockcity.ca or call 604-541-2136.

Mayor Darryl Walker

“As we welcome in the new year, let’s get together virtually to plan our future together by completing one of the City’s surveys and attending a virtual public meeting, such as the one on building heights in White Rock. The thoughts and opinions of our residents are an important part of the City Council’s decision-making. I hope everyone will have their say.”
