Wipe It, Green Bin It

Most Metro Vancouver residents know cooking grease should not be poured down the drain, but many are unaware that dairy products, salad dressings and margarine can also wreak havoc on the sewer system.

With it being Thanksgiving this upcoming weekend, please think twice about washing items like gravy, yogurt or leftover salad dressing down the drain, simply wipe it up or scrape it in your green bin.

A dedicated website – www.wipeitgreenbinit.ca – provides a list of what can't go down the drain, how to properly dispose of fats, oils and grease, and details of recycling depots that accept larger quantities of grease and oil.

Request for Service

Report non-emergency problems to the City through our online platform, Request for Service. For example, you can report things like illegal dumping, sidewalk issues, or problems within our parks.

If this is a public works emergency, please call 604-541-2181. This includes concerns such as water main breaks, floods or critical service disruption.
