The City of White Rock will operate a cooling centre and a misting station beginning Saturday in response to warm weather forecasted. Locations are open to the public as follows:
- White Rock Community Centre, 15154 Russell Avenue, will operate Saturday, Sunday, Monday (August 6-8) 11:00am - 6:00pm. An air-conditioned space, chairs, and bottled water will be provided.
- The corner of Russell Avenue and Johnston Road will have a cooling/misting station in operation Saturday, Sunday, Monday (August 6-8) 10:00am - 6:00pm . Guests can sit and cool off under a tent, and will be provided with bottled water, cold compresses, fans, sunscreen, first aid, and access to a water mister.
