[ARCHIVED] White Rock City facilities closed September 19, 2022 to observe the National Day of Mourning

The Prime Minister of Canada has declared a National Day of Mourning to mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In recognition of the federal holiday, White Rock city hall and facilities will be closed on Monday, September 19, 2022 and will reopen Tuesday, September 20. 

City waste collection schedules are not affected. Many City services are available online at whiterockcity.ca/online.

Celebrating Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II


White Rock citizens wishing to express condolences for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II can do so online or can sign a book of condolences in person at Kent Street Activity Centre (1475 Kent Street). 

A commemorative service at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria will also be held on Monday at 11 a.m. You can watch the livestream of the service here: christchurchcathedral.bc.ca/live

A national commemorative ceremony in honour of Her Majesty The Queen will be held in Ottawa. Visit the Governor General of Canada’s website for details.
