Waste Collection Changes This Week
Garbage, recycling, and green waste routes will be pushed back a day this week. City staff aim to collect the Blue Triangle zone Wednesday December 21 (weather permitting).
Please do your part and clear snow from lids and atop your solid waste collection materials and help out by shoveling around your collection containers. Find your collection schedule at whiterockcity.ca/waste.
Facilities and Recreation Changes
All facilities are operating normally on Wednesday, with the following programming exceptions:
- Tonight's dance at Kent Street Activity Centre is cancelled
- The White Rock Community Centre open gym will close at 4:30pm today
Emergency Warming Centre
The Emergency Warming Centre is open today until 10 p.m.
Snow Clearing on Roads and Sidewalks
City crews are out plowing snow to keep priority routes clear focusing on bus routes, emergency routes and major roads. Learn more about the City’s winter snow and ice operations and view the City’s Snow Control Map.
If your vehicle is not equipped for winter weather, please stay home.
Residents and businesses are required to clear snow and ice from sidewalks surrounding their property following a snowfall as per City Bylaw No. 1529 (PDF). Learn more about public responsibilities for clearing snow and ice.
