The City of White Rock is pleased to announce the appointment of John Woolgar as its new Director of Recreation and Culture. John comes to White Rock with over 30 years of experience in public service, most recently as the Manager of Aquatic and Arena Services for the City of Richmond, where he has been since 2014. John begins his role in White Rock on February 13, 2023.
Prior to his time in Richmond, John spent 24 years in progressively senior roles with the YMCA of Greater Vancouver including Vice President of Operations and Facility Development. John’s first job in public service was with the City of White Rock as a summer day camp coordinator and assistant race director for the Tour de White Rock in 1989.
“John’s leadership experience in community development, seniors’ programming, arena operations, and special event management, will be a tremendous asset to the recreation and culture team, and to the city,” said Guillermo Ferrero, CAO, City of White Rock. “We look forward to welcoming John to the City of White Rock.”
