[ARCHIVED] The Torchlight Parade, Fireworks & live music take place at White Rock Sea Festival & Semiahmoo Days

White Rock Sea Festival & Semiahmoo Days, Aug. 2 - 4, 2024

The 73rd White Rock Sea Festival & Semiahmoo Days celebration, presented by Waste Connections of Canada, returns August 2 - 4, 2024. The free three-day festival features kid-friendly activities and live music, an outdoor movie, the return of the Torchlight Parade, and a fireworks finale.

The festival has three activation sites across the waterfront, kicking off in Semiahmoo Park on Friday evening with an outdoor movie. Semiahmoo Park will offer delicious food and family entertainment, including the Semiahmoo First Nation’s famous salmon barbeque, the fun-filled Kid’s Zone, performances on the Spirit Stage, and an Indigenous Market. East Beach will feature an Environmental Zone where visitors will learn about the ocean, Boundary Bay habitat and the opportunity to participate in morning pilates. Memorial Park will be packed with live music and performances on the P’Quals Memorial Park Stage, and feature boat sea tours, and games for the whole family.

Marking a 5 year absence, the community’s favourite Torchlight parade returns on Saturday, August 3. The nighttime parade floats down Marine Drive starting at 8:30 p.m. by Oxford Street and ends at Semiahmoo Park.

Fireworks, sponsored by Thrifty Foods, will conclude the Festival with a spectacular display on Sunday starting at 10:15 p.m. View the show from anywhere along the waterfront.

“The waterfront will be in full swing over the August long weekend at the White Rock Sea Festival & Semiahmoo Days with concerts, fireworks, and a ton of family-friendly activities,” said White Rock Mayor Megan Knight.  “I look forward to the return of the Torchlight Parade and firework finale. We hope people will join in the fun!”

“We look forward to hosting Semiahmoo Days this year together with the White Rock Sea Festival,” said Chief Harley Chappell, Semiahmoo First Nation. “We will have our traditional salmon barbeque, an Indigenous artisan market, the favourite Kid’s Zone, and great concerts and entertainment in Semiahmoo Park. We invite everyone to join us.”

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.
