Thanks to the community for a successful 73rd annual White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days

White Rock Sea Festival & Semiahmoo Days

The White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days, presented by Waste Connections of Canada, returned to the waterfront this past weekend for its 73rd year. Over 55,000 attendees enjoyed a weekend full of activities including two stages of live music, environmental zone, kid-friendly inflatables, and spectacular firework festival finale, presented by Thrifty Foods.

The return of the much-loved Torchlight Parade drew in large crowds to watch 43 groups and 9 floats light up the waterfront on Saturday night. The City of White Rock showcased its new award-winning float to the community, which illustrates a beach day complete with White Rock’s famous pier, mermaids, and sea creatures.

Semiahmoo Days, graciously hosted by the Semiahmoo First Nation, was a highlight with its delicious salmon BBQ, fantastic kid zone, and exceptional entertainment.

“This past weekend’s White Rock Sea Festival and Semiahmoo Days was a tremendous success. From the return of the Torchlight Parade to the fireworks extravaganza on the waterfront, and the delicious salmon BBQ from the Semiahmoo First Nation, this event reflects year after year the best of our community spirit and collaboration” said City of White Rock Mayor Megan Knight. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Semiahmoo First Nation, city staff, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to put this weekend on. I also want to thank our presenting sponsor Waste Connections of Canada, and our fireworks sponsor Thrifty Foods for making this event possible.”
