[ARCHIVED] White Rock welcomes local visitors, encourages others to enjoy being close to home

Stay Local. COVID-19 Travel Restrictions from the Province of B.C.

The City of White Rock is welcoming visitors from White Rock and South Surrey, encouraging others to stay close to home in line with the current Provincial travel restrictions.

Restrictions for non-essential travel in B.C. are in place until May 25 to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and variants of concern.

The Province has said not to take long trips within individual regions, specifically:

  • Now is not the time for overnight vacations away from your community.
  • Stay close to home.
  • Visit your local beach, hiking trail or park.

The City encourages visitors who are outdoors in busy places—like the Waterfront Promenade, the White Rock Pier, Marine Drive and Johnston Road and North Bluff Road—to wear masks when they can’t stay two metres apart.

“These are challenging times, and everyone is trying to do their part. If you live in White Rock or South Surrey, or are from the Semiahmoo First Nation, please enjoy all White Rock has to offer. Get takeout from our local restaurants, use curbside pickup and follow all COVID-19 safety rules if you are going into stores, eating outside at restaurants or enjoying the outdoors.

If you are not local, we look forwarding to welcoming you back when it’s safe to do so. There are many beautiful places in B.C., so please stay close to home and enjoy your neighbourhood.”
