Attend a live event

You can attend or watch Teams live events at the time of the event or on-demand after the event has ended. 

Before the event

Check to make sure your system and browser support Microsoft Teams

  • Supported operating systems: Windows 7 and later (32-bit and 64-bit), macOS X 10.10 and later
  • Supported mobile operating systems: Android 4.4 and later, iOS 10 and later
  • Supported web browsers: Chrome (last 3 versions), Edge RS2 and later, Firefox (last 3 versions), Internet Explorer 11, Safari

Joining the event

  1. From the Events Calendar, the title of the event would indicate that it is a "Microsoft Teams - Live Event".
  2. Click on the event link posted on the event details page.
  3. A pop up message "This site is trying to open Microsoft Teams" is displayed. Click "Cancel" to continue on the web browser.
  4. Click the "Watch on the web instead" button.
  5. On the Welcome to the live event page, click on the link "Join anonymously".

  6. If the live event hasn't started, you'll see the message "The live event has not yet started.". There are controls at the bottom of your screen to pause the action, adjust volume and the video quality..

  7. To watch the event again, use the same link to see a recording.
