Draft 2022 Audited Financial Statements

Representatives from KPMG attended to present the Audit Findings Report for the year ended December 31, 2022.

Council accepted the 2022 Audited Financial Statements which will be forwarded to the province.
 


Initial Review Of 14990 North Bluff and The Land Use Plan for the North Bluff Corridor Study

Council directed staff to develop a scope of work for a North Bluff Land Use Study. The application process involving an OCP amendment will not be running concurrently during the time the study is taking place.


BIA Request for Beer Gardens at East Beach Concerts at the Pier

Council approved the White Rock Business Improvement Association’s (BIA) request to operate a beer garden at two (2) ‘Concerts at the Pier’ events on:

  • Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at the East Beach parking lot, east of Grand Chief Bernard Robert Charles Memorial Plaza; and
  • Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at the East Beach parking lot, east of Grand Chief Bernard Robert Charles Memorial Plaza.

Baseball Training Facility Operating License Agreement

Council endorsed a Baseball Training Facility Operating License Agreement between the City and the White Rock South Surrey Baseball Association.  The operating agreement is in relation to a new enclosed baseball training facility at Centennial Park.
 


City of White Rock – Growing Communities Fund Grant

Council deferred consideration on this item and a special Council meeting has been called to be held Monday, June 19, 2023 at 4 p.m. for Council to discuss and consider this topic.

 

Intermunicipal Ride-Hailing Business Licencing Program

Council gave final reading to two proposed bylaws regarding the Intermunicipal Ride-Hailing Licencing Program.
 


Limitations Of Rent Increases on Commercial Properties – UBCM Resolution

Council endorsed a resolution which will be sent to the annual Union of British Columbia Municipalities conference requesting that the province establish a rental limit increase on commercially zoned properties. This would be similar to the rental increase limitations that govern residential rental properties and aims to assist small businesses in the community.
