Housing Supply Act Targets

The Province released the Housing Target Order for the City of White Rock on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The Honourable Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing, announced the City’s five-year housing target of 1,067 units (which is 75% of the total Provincial Housing Needs Estimate of 1,422 units for the City of White Rock) the total minimum number of net new completed housing units required to comply with this Provincial Housing Target Order.

The Order sets out the total five-year housing target to be met by June 30, 2029, and annual cumulative housing targets (Schedule A), housing target performance indicators (Schedule B), and progress reporting dates (Schedule C). 

The City will work with Provincial staff to address the housing crisis in our region and on the development of these targets to provide more housing in our community.
