The City of White Rock is pleased to advise that today the Honourable Mr. Justice Butler ruled in favour of the City with regards to a Petition brought against the City in the Supreme Court of British Columbia with respect to a Zoning Bylaw permitting the redevelopment of property at 1550 Oxford Street.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Butler concluded that the Zoning Bylaw that provides for an eight storey, 199 bed complex care facility constructed on the existing site for the Evergreen Baptist Campus of Care is consistent with White Rock’s Official Community Plan. The facility will replace two existing older buildings that currently house 107 complex care beds. The Zoning Bylaw contains provisions that allow for the existing residents to remain in place while the new facility is undergoing construction.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Butler dismissed the Petition against the City and advised that the City is entitled to costs.
