The City will be installing a watermain on Marine Drive between the Museum and Vidal Street.
Notices of work were delivered to businesses on November 9, 2018, communication initiated with the White Rock Business Improvement Association (BIA) and information has been shared on the City of White Rock’s Facebook and Twitter.
Work on the watermain will increase the pipe size to improve the fire flow and is the second phase of this watermain installation. The first phase was completed in May which installed the watermain fronting Memorial Park.
As part of our commitment to respecting and strengthening our relations with our First Nations, in particular, the Semiahmoo First Nation, the excavation and archaeological testing at Memorial Park is scheduled to start this Wednesday, November 21st.
The scope of the watermain work includes installing new service connections to each property along the north side of Marine Drive, along with the following:
- Project length: November 21, 2018 to December 21, 2018
- Work to Occur: Within the hours of 7:30am to 7:00pm.
- Alternating single lane traffic flow will be maintained during construction. (Refer to the image below for the limits of work.)
Please note that the final paving will be done during warmer spring weather in 2019.
