Know an outstanding British Columbian who deserves recognition?
BC's Honours and Awards Secretariat is currently accepting nominations for the province's highest honour, the Order of British Columbia.
Any person or group is welcome to nominate a deserving individual as candidate for appointment to the Order of British Columbia. Further information on eligibility criteria and on the nomination process can be found on-line at http://www.orderofbc.gov.bc.ca/nominations/.
Nomination forms are available from the Honours and Awards Secretariat office at orderofbc@gov.bc.ca and may be completed in hardcopy or on-line. Nominations must be received by Friday, March 7, 2014 to be considered for 2014 awards. Nominations received after this will be included in the selection process for the next year.
Successful nominees will be presented with the Order by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia and Chancellor of the Order of British Columbia, at an official ceremony at Government House in Victoria.
Established in 1989, the Order of BC recognizes any resident of B.C. or former long-term resident who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, excellence or distinction in any field of endeavor (community leadership, business, labour, industry, volunteer service, professions and other occupations, arts, sports , and others) that benefits the people of British Columbia or elsewhere.
