The City was awarded Level 3 recognition – ‘Achievement of Carbon Neutrality’ for 2014 by the joint Provincial-Union of British Columbia Municipalities Green Communities Committee.
Some of the initiatives included the City’s participation in the organics diversion program, and Metro Vancouver’s landfill credits program.
The City of White Rock recognizes that climate change is a global issue. Moving forward, the City will seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 10 per cent below 2007 levels by 2020 and 50 per cent below 2007 levels by 2050.
