The City of White Rock will be removing the fence across the Bay Street Boat Launch on Thursday 19 June.
The City of White Rock proposed and carried out the following plan. On Wednesday 18 June, Transport Canada lifted the Order related to the recent removal of access at White Rock’s West Beach boat launch.
The City’s proposal was released on Friday 13 June:
- Installed two stop signs and painted stop lines on both sides of the tracks.
- Painted text “No stopping on tracks” on the pavement on both sides of the tracks.
- Painted no parking zone cross-hatching on the north side of the track.
- Replaced the Railway Crossing sign on the south side of the track. This work was completed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF).
The City of White Rock continues to work with Transport Canada and BNSF to address rail concerns in the City.
