We’re updating our Official Community Plan (OCP) and we need your help! The revised OCP will provide a renewed vision for White Rock to the year 2045 along with a regulatory framework required to guide growth toward that vision.
With Phase 1 & 2 complete, it’s time to build the plan. The third phase is the "nuts and bolts" phase of building the Plan, including updated land use and infrastructure plans that will guide the next phases of the City's development. In this phase the OCP structure, key content areas and associated draft policies will take shape. Your input will help shape the future of our City.
We've launched an online MetroQuest survey to gather feedback. This is an online survey that allows residents to prioritize issues and opportunities through a visually-rich platform. The survey will be open until November 13.
You can also participate in Phase 3 with these upcoming engagement opportunities:
Pop-Up Engagement (October, 2016 – Various Dates):
City staff will set up shop at various public events and at City facilities throughout the month of October to gather feedback from the public. A combination of interactive displays and a digital survey will provide residents with multiple ways to participate. The following pop-up events have been scheduled:
- October 18, 10am-2pm – Kent Street Activity Centre
- October 26, 10am-2pm – Kent Street Activity Centre
- October 30 – Great Pumpkin Run/Walk
- November 3, 10am-3pm – Pop-Up-Town

Growth Management Workshops (October 25, 2016, 2-4pm, First United Church & November 1, 2016, 6:30-8:30pm, Centennial Arena Hall)
Structured growth workshops will explore options and ideas for the “look and feel” of growth, including typologies, uses/programming, architectural character, public realm character, and other urban design elements. In an attempt to reach as many residents as possible, two growth management workshops will be held at different times on different days. Registration is required for these workshops. If you would like to attend please send an email with your name and address indicating your interest in the ‘Growth Management Workshop,’ and your availability for each of the workshops, to imagine@whiterockcity.ca
