The City of White Rock is partnering with the White Rock Chinese Arts Center and The Canadian Alliance of Chinese Associations to host the White Rock Moon Festival from September 5 – 7, 2014. The festival kicks off with an opening ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on September 5, 2014.
The second annual three-day event will feature Western and Chinese cultural performances. This festival features music, food, martial art demonstrations, workshops and a fireworks display on the first night, Friday 5 September. Traditional Chinese lily flower lanterns will illuminate the White Rock waterfront promenade and pier.
“As a Council we’re incredibly pleased to support all events that strengthen artistic and economic relationships between countries,” said Mayor Wayne Baldwin. “Events such as these are an important part of bringing communities together and a better understanding of different cultural celebrations.”
