Tourism White Rock is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Tourism Surrey. Under the terms of the agreement, Tourism Surrey will provide tourism services to Tourism White Rock including overseeing the Volunteer Information Centre at the waterfront in White Rock. With a pleasant temperate climate, a beautiful waterfront, and walkable pier and promenade, White Rock is a world class visitor destination. Tourism plays a significant role in raising public awareness of White Rock’s unique character and attracting visitors from near and far.
The Tourism Information Centre, located on Marine Drive will reopen to the public on Saturday, March 26, 2016. The former Tourist Information Centre located on Johnson Road is being converted into a Pop-Up Art Gallery featuring the work of local artists.
Later this spring, White Rock Tourism will relaunch with a fresh, new outlook on marketing our “City by the Sea.” The City asked for resident and business input to select a new name. Four names were available on the City’s website and Facebook page. The names were Explore White Rock, In White Rock, Discover White Rock, or Tourism White Rock. Tourism White Rock will announce the new name as part of the relaunch.
City Council approved the White Rock Tourism Strategy and Implementation Plan 2016-2020 in fall 2015. The Strategy, put forward by the Tourism Strategy Task Force, is a five year plan to improve tourism service delivery and related economic activity. The City is acting on recommendations from this plan for funding and governance.
