Update, March 10, 11:00 a.m.:
Construction will take place from March 15 to the end of March with weekend work expected.
Working hours will be as per the City's noise bylaw (7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m on weekdays, and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays)
Update, March 7, 2:25 pm: Work is being delayed until further notice due to the snow.
In anticipation of erosion repair work set to begin this week on East Beach, the City has set up site fencing, closed the pedestrian rail crossing at Finlay, and closed off parking stalls adjacent to the work site to allow for equipment and material to be deposited.
Please note that this work is weather dependent and may be delayed due to inclement weather which affects the work site and material supplier. The City will post updates on this web page.
About Erosion Repair
Due to storms, the foreshore on White Rock beach has suffered damage from the effects of wave erosion. Specific areas at east and west beach have been identified as requiring repair and protection from future events.
City-contracted crews will be completing reparation work. This will include the placement of riprap and the restoration of landscaping.
We thank you for your patience as we work to complete this important project.
