White Rock teen Jayme Hall will be the final medal-bearer for the Rick Hansen 25 Anniversary Relay end of day celebration in White Rock on May 19, 2012. The bubbly, active teen survived a massive stroke less than two years ago. She went 23 hours without blood flow before she was operated on in the neurology station at Vancouver General Hospital. The doctors said if she had reached 24 hours it would be likely she wouldn't survive. After the doctors pushed out the clot and got blood flowing back to Jayme's brain, they were unable to tell if she would be able to walk or talk when she woke up. Today Jayme is back playing her favourite sport, soccer. Overcoming amazing odds, Jayme is a shining example of a difference maker within our community.
