The City of White Rock is developing an update to its Strategic Transportation Plan (STP) that will provide guidance for the City’s investments in transportation infrastructure and programs over the long-term.
We Want to Hear From You!
Over the next several months, there will be several opportunities to provide input on the STP Update, including public events and to understand transportation issues and opportunities in White Rock.
An online survey is available for you to provide your input about transportation in White Rock . Hard copies can also be picked up at our City Facilies - Operations, City Hall, Community Centre, Kent Street Community Centre and the Library. Please complete this survey by March 31, 2014.
Background
The City’ existing STP was developed in 2006. Since that time, there have been several changes in the City and surrounding areas that influence the local transportation system. The STP Update will provide the City with an updated vision along with goals, and objectives for the future of White Rock’s transportation system, and will provide long-term plans for all modes of transportation, including walking, cycling, transit and the road network. The STP Update will also include an implementation and funding plan identifying, short, medium, and long-term priorities. The STP Update will be integrated with other related current studies, including the 2008 Official Community Plan and the City’s Town Centre Design Guidelines, among other plans and policies.
Study Process
The Strategic Transportation Plan Update is being developed over a four-phase process between February and June 2014, and will include a number of opportunities for the public to provide feedback and input to the City.
Stay tuned on other opportunities to share your input and the status of the STP Update through the City’s website.
