The City of White Rock is accepting applications for the 2015 Arts and Culture Grant Program. The Arts and Culture Project Grant provides funding to eligible organizations that initiate a new arts festival, celebration, or event in the community. The intent of the grant is to provide seed money to support local artists, arts and culture organizations and to promote the spirit of celebration in White Rock.
The new grant was one of the recommendations brought forward in the City of White Rock’s Cultural Strategy. The strategy was approved by Council in autumn 2014. It aims to cultivate opportunities for the creation, education and enjoyment of the arts, provide support to local artists and increase economic growth in the community.
Quote:
Mayor Wayne Baldwin, City of White Rock
“A vibrant and diverse arts and culture community is vital to the health and well-being of White Rock. By helping to fund arts and culture events, the City shows its support for new initiatives and enhances the capacity of local citizens working on local projects. This new grant opportunity is just one way the City supports these important arts and culture programs and services. The City works closely with several not-for-profit organizations all year round to encourage community pride, identity, celebration and self-expression.”
Application Deadlines:
The Arts and Culture Project Grant deadline is June 26, 2015. Applicants will be notified of the outcome before the end of July 2015. Funding is intended to support expenses for projects occurring in 2015.
