Due to the heavy rainfall, an Alder tree has fallen at the Centennial Park trail and the trail will be closed and sectioned off with caution tape until further notice.
As the tree came down, surrounding trees were hit and either fell or were severely damaged. With the large rainfall and aging exposed roots, the aging trees were not steadily supported. Our Parks and Operations department is working with BC Plant Health Care and as a safety precaution to trail and park visitors, any additional unstable trees will be safely removed.
