The City of White Rock will be undertaking loose log removal along the waterfront to provide for better accessibility and public safety. This work will begin on Tuesday, June 19, under the direction of an Environmental Monitor using the project Environmental Management Plan, and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. Only loose logs will be removed under the direction of an on-site Environmental Monitor. The timeline for the work is dependent on the tide.
In order to have as little impact on the environment as possible, staff will be using EV Rangers, which are electric ATV-type vehicles, to move the logs. Self-loading log trucks will be parked on the asphalt near the boat launch. The City has taken these steps so that no gas powered vehicles will be on the beach, unless absolutely necessary.
Please respect the working crews as they work to complete this in a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly manner.
