The City kicks off Imagine White Rock 2045, the City’s updated Official Community Plan Process today. The plan will guide the growth of our community and provide a policy framework and implementation strategy for Council by addressing critical issues such as housing, transportation, parks, economic development, the natural and social environment, and infrastructure. Residents will have opportunities over the next 18 months to give direct input on how White Rock will grow and develop as a community in the coming years.
There are three ways to offer feedback:
- Complete the vision survey online: www.talkwhiterock.ca or pick up a hard copy survey at City Hall, Planning Department. The survey closes on Wednesday 17 June.
- Share your feedback and expertise at the Vision Fair at the White Rock Community Centre on Sunday 24 May from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
- Send direct comments to imagine@whiterockcity.ca
Imagine White Rock’s online interactive home – TalkWhiteRock.ca – also launched this morning to provide citizens the opportunity to post comments, participate in surveys, and serve as a way for the City to share its research and to report back to the community. Project information for the Official Community Plan including corporate reports, event materials and the Community Profile will be available on the City’s website.
Quote | Mayor Wayne Baldwin, City of White Rock
“The Official Community Plan is one of the key deliverables for this Council and we are looking forward to engaging the community at their convenience. Talk White Rock will give people a chance to take part in the Official Community Plan process as they’re going about their ordinary summer activities. I encourage everyone to let us know, whether in person or online, their vision for White Rock.”
