The City is pleased to announce the Opening Reception of “Gallery to Go”, the first creative project in the City’s “Pop-Up-Town” gallery series. We invite you to experience White Rock’s vibrant art community in this new format showcasing talented local artists occupying and working in the retail space located at 1459B Johnston Road in uptown White Rock.
Beginning with the Opening Reception at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 and continuing from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday until the formal closing event at 7:00 p.m. on May 12, artists will be utilizing this dedicated space to sell works of art, teach art classes, and produce creative projects.
The Opening Reception not only kicks off the first of many in the “Pop-Up-Town” gallery series, but is also a launch into an exciting year of activities leading up to the City’s 60thBirthday and Canada’s 150th Birthday in 2017.
Guided by the City of White Rock’s Cultural Strategic Plan implemented in 2014 and the goal to increase arts and cultural infrastructure, offering creative spaces in White Rock is another platform that will assist in developing a stronger vibrant atmosphere while stimulating trade through cultural tourism.
