The City will participate in Rail Safety Week with two walks. Community Policing volunteers will be on the promenade on Wednesday 29 April, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., and Friday 1 May, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Volunteers will take the time to share clear messages about the importance of safety at grade crossings. If you see them around, don't hesitate to chat!
The CN Police, BNSF and the White Rock RCMP, will be handing out rail safety brochures from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday 2 May in addition to enforcement by the CN Police.
The City continues to work with Transport Canada and BNSF to improve rail safety.
Construction of two new at-grade pedestrian railway crossings and guard rail mesh on West Beach started in April. The mesh, similar to the East Beach mesh, will further promote safety and discourage trespassing at illegal points. We recognize the inconvenience associated with these improvements and greatly appreciate your patience during this time.
