The City would like to inform residents and businesses of the upcoming construction work starting this week on Johnston Road from North Bluff Road to Russell Avenue. The construction work involves the reconstruction and beautification of Johnston Road’s streetscape, which includes safer new sidewalks, convenient crosswalks, rain gardens, and treed seating areas, to name a few exciting upgrades that will take place.
We are striving to minimize public impact over the long term and will take this opportunity to simultaneously upgrade the critical water and sewer infrastructure on this block, and the block to the south, thereby ensuring capacity and reliability for this growing neighbourhood.
There will be partial road closures along Johnston Road between North Bluff Road and Russell Avenue during this time.
Pre-construction related work began May 16, 2018, with full construction to occur this week. Crews will be working Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with possible extended hours during evenings and weekends, as needed. Signage and certified traffic control people will be in place.
