The City of White Rock is sending its thoughts and prayers to a family who lost a loved one today in a fire in the 1400 block of Foster Street.
The White Rock RCMP and White Rock Fire Rescue responded this morning shortly after 7:30 a.m. White Rock Fire extinguished the fire.
People were evacuated from the three-storey building and were temporarily sheltered at a City community centre. Most have since returned home.
The name of the person who passed is not being released for privacy reasons. White Rock Fire Rescue and the White Rock RCMP will be investigating the cause of the fire.
