Join White Rock Mayor Megan Knight and council as they celebrate the planting of 752 native trees and shrubs in Ruth Johnson Park on Saturday October 5 at 9 a.m.
The trees will be planted thanks to Green Teams of Canada and its Lower Mainland Green Team securing a grant of $10,136 from TD Tree Days.
“By planting over 700 trees and shrubs, we are enhancing our local ecosystem and creating a greener space for our community to enjoy,” said White Rock Mayor Megan Knight. “This project reflects council’s commitment to sustainability, and the importance of preserving our natural heritage for future generations. Together, we are creating a greener, healthier White Rock.”
There will be two days of tree planting: Oct. 5 and Oct. 19. On both days, several trees will be planted, including two beautiful bigleaf maples. These events restore habitat, preserve our natural areas, and strengthen our community partnerships.
