The City of White Rock is making service adjustments during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure physical distancing and to manage costs.
Spring recreation programs cancelled
Recreation programs for Spring 2020 have been cancelled. Participants will receive a credit or can contact recreation@whiterockcity.ca to request a refund.
The City cancelled its winter programs in mid-March, and is now extending that closure into the Spring season, ending June 30.
Gardening reduced this spring
Gardening work usually done by a contractor on City property, including the planting of flowerpots and flowerbeds and hedge-trimming, will be reduced or cancelled.

Mayor Darryl Walker
“The City has looked at the bigger picture for White Rock and decided that there are some things we will have to do without this year to ensure that we stay physically separated, and that we follow the orders of our Provincial Health Officer.
We have also made the decision to trim some of our gardening budget. This will affect the flower containers on the Waterfront, hedge trimming on some City properties and the planting of some flowerbeds.
White Rock still has many beautiful plants and flowers, already in bloom, for everyone to enjoy.
We are all in this together, and we’ll get through this together.”
