White Rock Community Policing, with the support of the Semiahmoo Community Safety Society and White Rock Baptist Church, held a successful Shred-a-Thon event on Sat. Aug. 14, 2021. The event helped to promote fraud awareness by providing free shredding services for confidential and personal documents.
Over 4,000 pounds of confidential and personal documents were shredded, courtesy of a shredding truck donated by the Semiahmoo Community Safety Society. Volunteers raised $1,200 and collected five large boxes of non-perishable food items, which were donated to the Sources Community Resources Centre serving the White Rock and South Surrey area.
Thank you to the volunteers for their dedication and to those who attended the shred-a-thon for bringing awareness to fraud prevention.
