August 19, 2020 – White Rock, BC: The White Rock Museum & Archives is proud to present to the community and beyond the first of a series of video quizzes that are in development. The first White Rock History Quiz can be found on YouTube at: youtube.com/watch?v=WFAYw4vPG24
With funding assistance from the City of White Rock’s Arts & Culture grants, the museum has purchased a video quality camera and has been able to engage the technical and production assistance of Mark Roland Henning from Boutique Empire Studios. Together with the quiz’s author and presenter, Hugh Ellenwood, White Rock Museum & Archives’ Archive Manager, they have created an engaging and challenging test of people’s general knowledge of White Rock history.
With the closure forced on the museum due to the threat of the COVID 19 virus, staff and leadership at the museum have explored ways to still reach out to and engage the White Rock community with our mission to preserve our community’s heritage, reveal our community’s story, share stories worth telling, and welcome everyone. The White Rock History Quiz is one of the projects that has resulted from addressing the opportunities within the challenges of closure and distancing.
More quizzes are in development for the future as well as a video adaptation of Hugh Ellenwood’s popular historical walking tours, so subscribe to the White Rock Museum & Archives YouTube page to receive notifications: youtube.com/channel/UCDx6P4mlgSPt-oubSgnQEfQ
