The City of White Rock will allow dogs on two-metre leashes on White Rock’s Promenade between Oct. 1 and March 31.
On Sept. 14, City Council voted to continue the bylaw approved in 2019 for the pilot project. The trial took place from Oct. 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, and was monitored by the Dogs on the Promenade Task Force, formed to plan and evaluate the trial.
The task force, chaired by Councillor Scott Kristjanson and comprised of community representatives, will have one further meeting and report to Council.
Dogs are not allowed on White Rock’s Pier.
The City encourages people to use the off-leash park at Ruth Johnson Park. For more information about dogs in White Rock, visit www.whiterockcity.ca/dogs.
